The Wayne County Museum opened in 2017 in Waynesboro, TN. The museum pays homage to the local legendary singers, songwriters, musicians (Country, Rock-n-roll, Gospel), actors, honored military men & women from all the major wars and way more.
It may be a guitar signed by the King, Elvis Pressley or a vintage violin played at the Battle of Franklin during the War Between the States. Many instruments are on display and may be viewed at the Wayne County Museum. Don’t forget to get a look at the show suits as well as “look at dem boots”.
Some of the muscian names you will see include Sissy Pogue, Danny Davis, Kale Keith, Billy Lawson, the Shawnette Gospel Singer and Albert Kelly and The Merry Makers. Maybe not household names, but you will find interesting fact and information on each of these.You may also find information on such stars as Don Von Tress, songwriter for “Achy Breaky Heart”; Lloyd Howell, Artist best know for “Froggy Went a Courtin”; and MCA recording artist, songwriter, singer, actor, director and producer Mark Collie, of the movie “The Punisher”.
